Turn left at the first phrase
that taps my curiosity.
On the side are the ropes to grab
so I can scale up it
stepping sliding over
the bumps bumping up it.

On top I can see the sea
of all the extending tangents
and extraneous asides
that might be of interest.

What must be written then
are the lines that glow
with the knowing
shimmer of connectedness.
And so, when I see them
at their brightest I simply
reel them in with my trusty ink pen
to splay them open on paper.

And on occasion I allow me
the delightfully twisting query:
Do they glow because they know
to shimmer
or on some level from my high perch
do I in some way ignite them?

Overwhelm stole the helm.
It tricked with the availability
of a plethora of multimedia
that spoke directly to me
so I sat and ingested all I could
to the point of sensory overload.

All I read and heard and saw and felt
is churning chaotically in my mind
with excess overflowed to unconscious storage,
floating and spinning fixing itself
to come out later in some sensible rendition
of all I got and how I related to it.

It was a good session!

It’s already the second of March.
I’m a day behind on the easy stuff.
And what’s worse, this day
seems not to want me to catch up.

No poetry no prose got posted
yesterday.
No verses edited yet today
as, important stuff is in my way
to execute them.

Slightly under the weather
I’d like to self-diagnose
but can’t quite place the ailment.
I talk to my stomach to barter for
a break in my discomfort.

This morning’s business quickly expedited
had me off to next things in
less than thirty minutes.
At home, papers got filed and
computer folders were created.
I even prepared some documents
updates and ones newly-made to populate them.

So much for the busy work,
then came time to create something.
Every damned thing jumped ship
including my creativity
and this is what I was left with.

I’m sorry and I’ll try again tomorrow, if not later.

I live in the moon.
My precious shell
pierced amply by meteors
to form my oddly shaped windows.
Sunlight and rain flow in
bathing the trees I sit underneath.
The glow of stars reflect all around,
they hit the sides and
the stream I splash my feet in.

Twenty-four hours
there’s enough light
so day or night, I can indulge
my abiding drive to write
to the neglect of every other endeavor.

I sit, invested for hours,
pulled in, moved to tears
by thoughts beautiful and sad.
Page after page is curled
as I ink my ideas to them.

I’m safer here
to follow my inspirations
more than in any other location
with freedom to create
and room to build anything
to amazing crescendos
and resonant resolutions;
Since no telephone rings this far out.
No one’s radar detects me to tell me
what I ought to be doing.

Back on earth from my home
friends and family absently
turn their backs to me
expecting me to be unavailable.
It’s fair and reasonable and offers last minutes
to reflect on and delight in my recent efforts
even when I wind up with
less than the next prize winning verses.

Venturing out
to the area before the fringe
I catch glimpses
of the freedom and frenzy there.

I stall in appreciative thought
 about the beauty I see
contemplating what could meld
ugly and harsh with warm and attractive.

Because, bitter, endearing, pain, peace
 are all present out there.
Then it came to me that the
 understanding key is authenticity.

All things presented without agenda
 swirling and being out there
on the fringe of conscious thought.
It’s the only explanation I can capture.
So, on that assumption I drift out there
to catch any treasures I might.

All I think now is about
 my next venture out
to the area of my thoughts
 where dreams reside and where
no matter the shape they take
I’m free and fearless to explore them.
