Caution Failed

A Tanka Poem

No one’s home TV time cold soda snacks
we were getting away with something
leaving early in the night to not push our luck caution failed
nosy neighbor needed us to see him see us even in the dark
our pallor hidden, we played it off feigning a cheery “Good night!”

  1. Thanks Pamela. I'm glad you like it. I wasn't sure I was hitting the mark with it. But, the memory made me laugh.
